Task management to improve the productivity of your business
Create lists of taks and prioritize your tasks in order to improve your productivity through Getting Things Done
Speed up all your projects by creating lists of tasks. Prioritize main, urgent tasks in order to increase and improve your productivity. Set up the Getting Things Done method using the billage task manager and you will close projects at lightning speed.
Divide your project into tasks
A single project, several tasks. The more tasks you create, the easier it will be to tackle the project. Because you cannot travel 1.000 kilometers in a go, and the same happens when it comes to projects.
Divide your project into feasible tasks. Tasks you feel like doing, tasks that don’t become boring even before you start working on them. Everything is easier to do if you tackle it step by step. It is the same with projects.
Create as many tasks as you deem appropriate for your project. Assign them timings, distribute them among your team and make your project flow promptly.
Check each task you hand in as done, and generate a global feeling of satisfaction. Increase productivity with a quick overview of how the project evolves by taking a look at its finished tasks.
What is a task list? How does it work?
Distribute the tasks for each project in lists. Those lists will help you keep your project board organized. If there is no organization, productivity just vanishes, so create task lists.
A task list, strictly speaking, is a list in which the different tasks in your project are included. Lists that are ruled by common criteria, as if you were working with several categories.
Define the different activities in your project and create a list for each of them: design, inbound, advertising, copywriting… Once they are created (in billage, you may create as many task lists as you wish in a given project), distribute each and every of the tasks in your project.
Generate a healthy workflow for each project: 1 project includes several task lists, which contain as many tasks as needed. Organization will rule your business. Productivity will increase as you never thought possible, and projects will be finished and handed in almost without realizing it.
Get an overview of your tasks as lists, Kanbans or Boards
Because if you see it… you will remember it! Take a look at all your tasks in the way you like most and suits you better. There are a lot of overview options to choose from.
Do you feel more at ease with lists? No problem. Using a list overview you will be able to see your tasks, one after the other, as in a normal list. It does not take up too much space. This is great for finding out, at a glance, the amount of tasks you have on your desk and their status.
If you prefer “seeing” things, you will choose the Kanban Overview (or board distribution). In this overview, you will be able to see, clearly and, above all, graphically, all your tasks distributed into boards (kanban style). Each board belongs to a list of tasks, and in each of them all your tasks will be written in cards. You will be able to move those cards from one board to another effortlessly.
Prioritize: Increase you team’s performance
If you want to increase the performance of all your team and let the projects flow, your Task Manager is, and will be, your best ally. Keep your project dashboard alive and organized at all times, update the status for each task and you will all work in an organized, result-driven manner.
Nothing can be more helpful to increase productivity than knowing what is to be done, when it is to be done and who is expected to do it. This includes having an up-to-the-minute knowledge of the timings faced, the tasks that remain to be done or the reason why a task was blocked and will not let us move forward.
With billage Task Manager, all the team members involved in each project will be able to work in an independent, efficient manner. They will know what they are expected to do and they will be able to inform the rest of the team on how their work progresses. In a similar manner, they will know what the others are doing. Most certainly, having a global overview of the project will foster the development of ideas to improve the process and optimize it.
Getting Things Done or how to cross out the tasks that have already been finished
When at work, few things can be more satisfactory than crossing out the tasks that have already been finished. This is why the Getting Things Done work methodology was created. We know this at billage, and this is why we decided to implement it in our Task Manager.
When a task has already been done, checked and finished… You may cross it out. Eventually, your dashboard will contain less things to do and more space. Free space that will motivate you to continue finishing tasks in order to reach the end of the project.
Reportedly, what you do not see does not exist. Therefore, make the pending tasks visible in order to generate the intention of finishing them. Getting Things Done is a proven methodology that really works. Crossing out, removing, moving finished tasks will make you as happy as eating a doughnut. In fact, you may do both things: crossing the task out and eating a doughnut to celebrate it (perhaps you’d better eat an apple, or else you won’t be so happy with your weight…).
